Job Title: Technical Sales Representative
Reports To: Sales Manager- US Department:
Summary: Responsible for identifying new commercial opportunities, achievement of aftermarket sales growth and to maximize profitability for Service Business Line in the Americas market area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a market area business plan and sales strategy, in conjunction with the Sales Area VP and Equipment Sales Team, that complies with long term strategic objectives.
- Conduct analyses of the market, customers, competition, latest trends, challenges and product developments to identify sales and training opportunities.
- Identifies customer needs for after-market support.
- Establish a sales and marketing program to offer field service contracts for new and existing machines.
- Identify and promote equipment rental opportunities.
- Seeking, promoting and sale of training opportunities including operator simulator training.
- Cultivate effective business relationships with the decision makers in key accounts.
- Preparing proposals and presentations in conjunction with Account Managers to support the achievement of major sales projects.
- Provide feedback to engineering & production regarding product quality, parts reliability, and service and understanding customer requirements in the market.
- Acts as the liaison between customer service department and customer to resolve technical problems and address customer concerns.
- Prepares spare parts recommendations for all new equipment sold in the USA.
- Works with Account Managers and Service BL Management to plan stocking levels and critical components in warehouses and on site to meet customer expectations.
- Regularly visits all assigned customers in territory to observe operation, and obtain feedback on equipment’s performance, customer support, field service requirements and issues.
- Work with Sales Team to maintain customer equipment and key contact database.
- Work with International to develop sales and marketing tools that directly address individual customer equipment and needs.
- Have a thorough understanding of the competition’s strengths and weaknesses.
- Develop and collect market knowledge. Identify and review competition sources and to relay this information to the Sales and Service Teams.
- Work with Service Coordinator to maintain fleet register for the assigned area.
- Is a key member of the North American Technical Committee.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Education level of Grade 12 or Equivalent. Technical or college degree a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience with underground mining / tunneling equipment in a technical role.
- Must be willing and able to travel domestically and throughout North America as needed.
- Candidate must have effective communication skills with all levels of workers and customers.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with little supervision.
